The XXI century, is a millennium open with the word “crisis”, born with the decadence of the end of ‘800 and amplified in the twentieth century by traumas such as world wars, the atomic, disease, Nietzsche’s “death of God”. These factors, together with many others, have created that which could be called the crisis of feelings.
The effects are visible and absurd: the triumph of the network has generated its opposite, namely the concept of the individual: by populism or collectivism, focused the individuality of the individual as the only solution. No sense of homeland, race, community.
The individual, at the center of an “empty humanism”, responds only to concepts of arid, expectation, absence.
Traumas, inhuman mechanics, the crisis and existential loneliness have triggered inability in man’s to grasp reality beyond its phenomenal aspects.
Bode, director of famous editions of Documenta, held that “the process of thinking had to be visual”; from this consideration, then, appears more evident the role of the image, closely linked to thought.
But what image today is the prospect, the screen, the interface, of the existential crisis?
Bode helps in finding the answer with verb “flaner”: wander aimlessly, often stopping to look.
Therefore the only purpose of of language is the lack of communication.
Obviously from the thought process became image, we arrive at a physical location of the result, namely the work. More the environment will be a neutral background, more it will catch with the vacuum represented. The man “blind”, tired and exhausted from his alienation, might still be able to hear the distant sound of his consciousness, then … just that noise, must be a source of beauty, and this source of Eternity.
